Funny Photos Of Workouts That Went Hilariously Wrong

Pumped Up to Lift

Here is another lady proving that heels can really do the job. At least, that's what we hope had happened in this scenario. We're assuming that she was about to lift a very heavy set with the stacked weights, so our fingers are crossed that her pumps didn't break.

However, experts cautioned that prolonged wearing of this footwear could hurt the feet, especially the front, because it's where the pressure mostly is. It can also hurt your knees because it tends to shift the body forward, so you try your best to pull yourself backward.

Am I Doing it Right?

This guy's head looks like it might pop anytime soon because of its color. While some people think that lifting weights is easy, this man's expression is proof that it's definitely not. It's obvious that he needs to build his arm strength, or else he might not be able to endure gym activities the next he visits.

On a serious note, it seems that his form is not the recommended stance for lifting. This poses a serious health risk, and as per experts, improper techniques could lead to wrist, neck, or back injuries.

Best Father of the Year?

Being a hands-on father is no joke; apart from making sure you spend quality time with your kids, you also have to look out for yourself and maintain that dad-bod. This patriarch seemed to have nailed both when he took his baby to his sweat session.

However, it might be a little too extreme for moms, who probably cringed at the first look of this picture. Although we're not sure why the father really did this, we're assuming that he wanted to teach his child the importance of exercising as young as possible.

Thor's in the House

There's no doubt that Thor is ripped, swooning girls and making other guys turn green in envy. We'd like to imagine that the Norse God of Thunder was at this very gym and decided to leave his mighty hammer called Mjölnir lying around since nobody but him can lift it.

In the Marvel films, Thor, played by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, owns the hammer. He has been adamant about how no one can lift the heavy tool except the worthy one. Alas, Captain America was able to do that, much to the surprise of the Asgard god.

Working Out during the Pandemic

Although a vaccine has already been developed for COVID-19, experts still advise wearing protection. However, some people simply can't wait for this pandemic to be over before they begin to build their muscles again. This woman clearly is one of them as she decided to get fit with full face gear.

Wearing masks has been proven to curb the spread of the coronavirus, although some still choose to go out without one. The next time you are about to go out without sporting protection, think of Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp who went out one time without a mouth and nose covering and ended up contracting the virus.

Working Out Glamorously

Who says working means throwing style out the window? Walking in pumps already entails hard work, more so performing squats in them. As such, this lady deserves a round of applause for achieving the feat, and with her calf muscles, one can tell that she is a pro at doing this.

No matter what workout routine you're going to do, experts have long advised wearing the appropriate footwear because they can cause foot damage. It does pay to invest in a nice pair of shoes that are lightweight and shock absorbent.

Fitness Trainer to the Rescue

As a trainer, there are a lot of ways to motivate your clients, like this woman who sat on the guy as he was doing the bench press. That or he probably needed something heavy to keep his feet grounded as he lifted.

Although the gym is filled with people who want to go about their day without someone telling them what to do, hiring someone to train you is beneficial, especially for clueless clients. Not only will they help you achieve your goals faster, but they will also motivate and push you harder.

Multitasking at Its Finest

We're guessing that this gym is located in a clubhouse, and this man had just finished swimming when he realized that he wanted to shed a few pounds. It's also unclear if he was reprimanded for wearing almost nothing except for a towel.

We think that he just remembered that his show was on and rushed to the facility to watch. That or the man simply forgot the right attire, which are usually pricey because they are usually meant to be lightweight, comfortable, durable, and breathable as you move and sweat.

The Ultimate Neck Exercise

This guy looks ridiculous in his outfit, but in reality, he is a dedicated trainer who has proven himself to be a master of what he does. Jon Call, who is commonly known as Jujimufu, might be a familiar face, and that's because he went viral for chair-splitting while carrying weights overhead!

Call, who joined America’s Got Talent Season 11, started training in 1999. He was only 14 when his parents got him a gym membership, and because it was just across his school, he would train while waiting for his parents to fetch him.

Margarita Time!

Who says working out is bound by age? This grandma was certainly debunking that misconception when she went to the facility with a margarita in hand. We don't have an inkling how young this rocking woman is, but she isn't the first to prove that age is just a number when it comes to staying in shape.

Joan MacDonald, a 70-something-year-old grandma, was told by the doctor years ago that her body was deteriorating, which prompted her to change her habits. After successfully losing weight, her story became viral, and she had become some sort of a celebrity with over 1 million followers.

The Thing's Session

If we're to guess what happened, we would say that he auditioned for Fantastic Four but got rejected, so he returned to the gym to bulk up even more. One glance, and you'll definitely see the uncanny resemblance between this venous buff and the fictional character -- even the guy in the background couldn't get his eyes off him.

The barbell does seem heavy, so he probably was breaking a sweat, but hopefully, his veins didn't burst. Bulging veins are quite normal when exercising, but what's not is when the activity is too strenuous that it would result in broken blood vessels.

Treadmill and Heels Don't Match

They say that you have to think that every path is your runway when you want to be a model. This lady, however, tried to incorporate that adage when she hit the treadmill in pumps. This video went viral in 2016 and showed the woman on the left doing fine at the start.

However, the treadmill sped up, causing her to lose control and eventually flying and hitting the mirror. Luckily, the mishap didn't cause any injury as she was seen laughing. Well, there's a reason running footwear were made available in the market.

Cat Lover and Not Ashamed of it!

Netflix's documentary about a certain killer named Luka Magnotta truly sheds light on how people adore cats. Since the advent of the internet, our feline companion has taken over the online world by storm. Just look at this guy sporting spandex with a huge face of the cuddly creature.

We don't know about you, but we certainly find this scene amusing! It's one way to shed sweat while entertaining fellow gym-goers, like this lady who even took a picture. Perhaps, the man wanted to bring his cat to the place but can't since most facilities don't allow it.

Am I Doing This Right?

The intricate machines at the gym can be enough to turn people away. Not only do they look daunting, but it can also be terrifying to think about the eyes that will be glued when you use an apparatus wrongly. Clearly, this person is doing it wrong, but at least he/she is effectively stretching.

Stretching is an essential part of a pre-workout routine because it promotes the flexibility of joints so that you can do a range of motions comfortably. Moreover, it's also important to cool down after your session to bring your heart rate back to normal.

TV Made Gymnastics Look So Easy

Gymnasts make the sport look easy, but in reality, it's not really a walk in the park. This woman, whose epic reaction was caught at the right moment, didn't anticipate the arm strength needed in using hoops. Hopefully, she didn't fall badly or at least landed on her feet. Can you imagine being in this scary situation?

Gymnastics seems like an easy activity,, but it requires a great deal of coordination, strength, flexibility, endurance, and gracefulness to make it big. Olympic medalist Simone Biles, who boasts over 30 medals, certainly possesses all these traits.

The Painful Truth of Resistance Bands

Not everyone wants to go to a facility to sweat because some prefer to exercise in their houses' comfort. Home workouts wouldn't usually need much equipment, but it does help if you have a couple, including resistance bands, which some might say are ineffective.

However, these flexible bands offer a variety in the sense that you can do a lot of exercises with them. They also cost less and are smaller than machines, so you can keep them at your bedside table. Just be careful in using them because you may end up like this girl who was slapped by her band. Ouch!

Am I Doing It Right?

Every gym rat has to start somewhere, like this woman who seemed like she doesn't know what she's doing. Let's face it, machines are difficult to figure out, and not everyone can afford to hire a trainer to guide them.

As for the machine, we're guessing it's leg press equipment, which targets the lower half of the body. However, some trainers believe that it isn't as beneficial as companies claimed it to be. Some experts say it is bad for the body since it puts a lot of pressure on the back and legs.

Weightlifting Gone Wrong

We don't know what's worse, him not wearing the right shoes or clothes. Merely looking at this GIF makes us cry in pain because a failed attempt to do a move called snatch can definitely have a horrific outcome. This weightlifting move aims to hold the bar overhead in one quick motion before standing up.

Obviously, this man is not a pro in doing that and had certainly overestimated his capabilities. In 2014, an OC Throwdown contestant named Kevin Ogar incurred a spine injury after he bailed on a snatch and dropped the barbell, causing other stacked weights to bounce and hit him.

Gym or McDonald's?

This man learned to improvise with a black towel when the sun made it impossible to see what's on the screen. There's nothing wrong with that, given that he wanted to track his progress. However, what's quite eye-catching is these machines' color scheme, which made it look like he was at a McDonald's.

It's quite ironic, but the fast-food chain is probably the last place you need to visit after a sweat session. A Big Mac has 550 calories while a cheeseburger has 300 calories. To fill up your stomach after a workout, some of the best choices are salmon with sweet potato and grilled chicken with vegetables.

Last Hurrah before the Big Date

Some people prepare for their dates by going to the salon or getting some beauty rest. This woman probably wanted to release the stress and tension and went to a facility in her short dress and strappy sandals. Don't forget about her pouch and her perfectly made 'do, which tell us she's about to head somewhere important.

Although it's quite practical to already be in her date clothes as she exercised, we can't imagine how she would smell after this. She was doing the bench press, which targets the upper body, particularly the pectorals, triceps, and deltoids.

It's Not in the Muscles, Big Guy

The gym is a nice place to meet other people who share the same interest as you. But for this guy in black, he definitely encountered a fellow enthusiast who greeted him in a mind-blowing, (literally) twisted manner.

But don't attempt this stunt because the guy in blue, Ahmet Yusuf Kılıç, is a pro in contortion. In fact, he joined Turkey's Got Talent and has been sharing his amazing skills on social media. Meanwhile, the man in black is Mesut Ertüzün, who is a dedicated trainer and usually posts routines on his Instagram.

Swimming Lesson's Next

Wardrobe malfunctions are always meant to happen anytime, anywhere. Take this woman as an example as she obviously didn't notice that her pants were nearing to fall off. Unfortunately, her swimsuit gave away the impression that she might be heading to her swimming lessons next after this sweat session.

If that's the case, then she must be so dedicated to staying fit. Although it doesn't involve weights, swimming improves strength, endurance, and muscles. Contrary to what has been said, the sport can also help shed a few pounds since it keeps the heart rate up and works on all body parts.

Yoga Master's Upward-Facing Dog

This French bulldog is killing it with his upward-facing dog pose while his owner tried to emulate him. Joking aside, we feel that the man wanted to do yoga, and it just so happened that his cuddly companion decided to stretch his hind limbs at the right time.

This yoga pose, also called Urdhva Mukha Shvanasana, opens up the chest, shoulders, and abdomen areas as well as taps a person's upper body strength. It's quite different from the downward-facing dog pose, which stretches the arms, back, and legs. However, both are said to help ease mild anxiety.

Jump Training Gone Wrong

You have probably seen a lot of fitness experts who seemed superhumans when they jumped on high stacks of woods or weights. The guy with the cap and black shirt is not one of those people because he failed miserably and ended up falling on his back.

What these two lads are doing is called jump training, more commonly known as plyometrics. It is a type of exercise that uses muscle force and speed to enhance the body's power. Although the guy in blue makes it look easy, it's not because it is tiring, but it does help tone the legs and glutes.

The Younger They Start, The Better?

This adorable baby looks like he was about to cry from trying to lift weights. Although this might be a staged scene to make for a hilarious picture, it raises the question of the right age to lift weights, especially since many kids can do this with ease.

There's a circulating myth that weight training could lead to stunted growth in kids, but there's not enough evidence to prove this claim. However, growing research says that supervised training of children on specifically designed programs can work wonders for them.

Never Judge a Book

With her skin-tight dress and pumps, it's only logical to think that she was just posing with the equipment. However, a full video of this woman named Helena Kazakevich would show that she had successfully carried this make-shift barbell and even lifted herself from a horizontal bar.

Kazakevich is the woman behind HotExot, which teaches pole dancing and has clients worldwide. Her close to 10,000 followers on Instagram are also benefiting from her pieces of fitness advice. She will judge the Art Dance & Aerial Championship in February 2021.

Hitting Two Birds with One Equipment

Who says that working out needs to be dull and boring? Take inspiration from this lady who didn't seem to care that people were already staring at her when she appeared to be performing a dance routine. After all, she is hitting two birds with one stone because her arms were getting toned, too.

It looks like she was using a cable machine, a staple in most gyms. It promotes strength and resistance, and there's never a dull moment when you use this equipment because it allows several movements, unlike the typical barbells.

Sitting This One Down

Treadmills are best for running or walking exercises, and handlebars are provided for added assistance. However, we've never seen one that enables a person to sit down as the machine is operating! We're not sure how this woman is going to reach her goal just by looking at the screen without actually running but to be fair, treadmills aren't everyone's cup of tea.

Some prefer to lift weights instead. However, this running apparatus actually works on the cardiovascular system and the lower part of the body. The higher the incline, the more power is needed from the legs, calves, and glutes.

Exorcism?

We're not sure how to feel about this GIF, but it certainly looks like a scene from the hit 1973 film The Exorcist. Her effortless movements matched with her stoic expression make it appear that she is lifeless. On the other hand, how she was able to pull herself up with ease and comfort and then do some dips is downright amazing.

Dubbed as one of the scariest films ever made, this William Friedkin-directed movie tells the story of a young girl named Regan who began to act strange and talk in different voices. Her mother sought help from medical experts and eventually a priest.

Must Resist Temptation!

This Krispy Kreme booth is strategically placed inside a gym, specifically near the treadmill, which makes us wonder if it's a part of a reward system of some sort. If it was, it seemed effective as there are tons of people shedding sweat -- perhaps they were too motivated to finish their sessions because of the scent of doughnuts nearby.

We're assuming that this was taken in June, during the National Donut Day, and yes, there's such an occasion. Although the Krispy Kreme booth is tempting, these people should know that a piece of the brand's signature glazed packs 190 calories.

Cheat Days Are The Best

This person did the unthinkable: eat a scrumptious cupcake while others in the gym are working out. There's nothing wrong with a little indulgence from time to time, as research has found that those who restrict themselves too much tend to overeat. We're loving that he/she looked comfortable and content with what she's doing!

A low-fat, 100-gram cupcake typically has 309 calories. Some experts think cheat days are necessary for people to stick to their eating programs and keep their sanity as well as to avoid extreme deprivation. However, others feel that it's a window to binge-eat.

Skipping Leg Day Anew

Different gym machines target different parts of the body, which is why it's essential to talk to a trainer to know what will help you achieve your body goals. We're guessing that this guy didn't consult the expert and focused too much on his upper body, leaving out his lower extremities.

There's no problem if you want to get buff, but it is also crucial to engage in holistic programs. Skipping out leg day could result in what is called the chicken leg, or those with huge upper bodies and thin legs. This happens to astronauts in space because blood tends to move toward the upper body.

Getting in (Fries) Shape

This guy wanted not just to work out in his Mr. Potato Head costume but to entertain others as well. Seeing this as you pump those muscles can make you feel hungry, but, at the same time, it is a great reminder of the nutritional value of the high-carb potato.

Mr. Potato Head is a character in the successful animated Pixar franchise Toy Story. Because of his design, the toy can detach his body parts and has a compartment on his back. He was voiced by no less than the late Emmy Award-winning comedian Don Rickles, who passed away in 2017.

Didn't Go According to Plan

At first, this woman seemed to be acing her routine until her legs didn't land on the right spot, causing her to fall. Merely looking at this GIF is already painful, so we can't imagine how she must have felt during the time. Gyms are filled with heavy equipment, so extreme care must be observed.

What's also noticeable is that she was using a slam ball, which is a weighted, rubber-coated ball with thicker surfaces than a medicine ball. The lady was also doing a different version of the killer burpees, usually part of aerobic and cardio routines.

Why You Shouldn't Neglect Your Legs

Not everyone is a fan of leg exercises because these activities will only leave them sore and unable to walk properly for days. However, there are many reasons why they shouldn't miss out on routines that focus on the lower half of the body. Leg workouts promote strength and balance, and, of course, it won't have you looking like this man who has unproportionate extremities.

The good news is that you don't have to do much to tone your legs. Simple activities like lunges and squats will already give you the stability you need. The general rule is that you shouldn't overtrain your quads lest you want to feel sore for days.

With A Little Help From My Friend

Going to the gym isn't as fun as when you're with your friend. Not only can they motivate you in reaching your weight goals, but they can also act as a spotter in certain activities like the bench press. Your pals can also serve as a competitor, which can push both of you even more to achieving your visions.

Plus, research has found that if you have an exercise companion, you are likely to increase the amount of work. This would increase even more if your gym partner is emotionally supportive, science has found.

Riding the Treadmill

Most often, gyms are packed in the first few months of the year because most are trying to keep up with their New Year's resolution. This woman, we'd like to think, has gotten a membership to keep up with her weight goals, although it seems that she isn't doing it right because she brought her Segway machine.

Worse, she placed the two-wheel transporter on the treadmill. How that's possible, we're quite unsure. We also wouldn't encourage anyone to follow this dangerous act. In relation to this, the brand's owner tragically died after his Segway fell into a river.

The Perfect Footwear

This lady is another proof that you can wear heels while doing practically anything, including lifting weights. At some point, this way of training had become trendy, although it did open up the debate about what's safe and dangerous in terms of footwear choice.

While the discussion remains up in the air, we can't deny the fact that wearing pumps, in general, has a lot of advantages, which were backed by science. Apart from boosting a person's confidence, they can strengthen calf muscles and promote better posture. Plus, they make you look tall and can stylishly complement your outfit!

Living the Sweet Life?

While some people can last for hours at the gym, others simply drag themselves to work out. This person belongs to the latter type; just look at how uninterested he was at shedding sweat. Complete with chips and wine, this guy certainly was in the exercise room to have a good time.

We also noticed that the person was smoking, and there's no way that this vice and exercising can mix. The adrenaline that a person gets from nicotine is only short-lived, meaning he/she wouldn't be able to sustain strenuous activities for a long time. To cut it short, cigarettes can affect your performance.

The Path Less Traveled On

At first glance, there's nothing extraordinary about this photo, but you'll later realize the irony of people taking the escalators instead of the stairs to the gym! However, let's not be quick to judge the two guys because we don't know if they had sore bodies or were suffering from arthritis.

The facade of 24 Hour Fitness has become a meme countless times, primarily because it sandwiched stairs with escalators, seemingly making their clients choose between what needs more work and what's the easier way. In recent years, there has been a noted rise in 24-hour gyms, making us wonder if there are people who go there in the wee hours.

Batman Needs to Maintain His Toned Body

No pain, no gain, the famous saying goes, and even Batman understands that. With this picture, we can say that no one is born with a great physique and Bruce Wayne himself had to go the rigorous route of working out in a jam-packed gym to achieve a toned body.

Because the Caped Crusader has always looked fit in superhero films, we can't help but wonder about the preparations of actors before they fight villains on screen. Robert Pattinson, the next thespian to play the part in the upcoming movie, prepares for the role by training with a Brazilian jiu-jitsu master.

Ronald McDonald Is Burning the Big Mac He Had

Ronald McDonald seemed to be burning the numerous Big Macs he ate from his very own restaurant. What can we say? He does need to stay fit to create orders for his customers. However, he seemed to be in great shape for someone who always consumes fast foods.

The sight is also quite reminiscent of an '80s ad, showing Ronald, Grimace, and Hamburglar in a gym setup. However, not everyone is comfortable watching McDonald's main mascot. People who are afraid of clowns suffer from what is called Coulrophobia. This fear was emphasized in the 2017 film It.

Head In The Clouds

Vertically challenged individuals tend to feel insecure about their height, but being on the other end of the spectrum also has its caveat. Take this man as an example; he obviously couldn't work out in peace because of how low the ceiling was for his stature.

We're not sure if he purposely removed a ceiling tile or if gym personnel had it removed specifically for him, but one thing's for sure, he wasn't able to perform his activity comfortably. Although this man is inarguably tall, the Guinness World Record holder for being the tallest man ever is Robert Wadlow.

Food Is The Best Motivation

It's hard to work out when all you can think of is food - so why not think of a clever way to incorporate both in your next gym session? This man's mind is certainly more advanced than most of us. Kidding aside, this GIF shows a great way to motivate yourself to push harder.

However, the kind of food should also be kept in mind when trying to stay fit. Diet and exercise go hand in hand, and prioritizing one over the other can wreak havoc on your goals. If you aim to drop a few pounds, then pizza is definitely not the best choice to have as a snack.

Injury in the Making

The man in pink undoubtedly had the will and gut to gain muscles, but his desperation shouldn't have gone this far. He looked clueless on how to perform a bench press, but it is worth pointing out that the weight could have been too heavy for him to handle, so much so that his form got affected.

We seriously hope that his companion at least told him that he was doing it wrong or else that's an accident in the making. In 2017, a 15-year-old died after the barbell he was lifting during a bench press fell on him. Unfortunately, the teen was found with the equipment on his neck.

Fueling For The Big Workout

Contrary to common misconception, eating before a sweat session is advised because the body needs calories to power through. However, many experts have advised consuming snacks at least 2 hours before you perform your routine. This gym goer, however, brought his take-out meal and probably turned others envious.

If you are pressed for time and only have 45 minutes to an hour before your session, it is highly advised to eat foods that are easily digested and have protein and carbs to avoid discomfort while moving. What type of snacks and the amount will vary on the intensity of your task, too.

An Embodiment of No Pain, No Gain

Who says gym training is a walk in the park? Certainly not this guy, who obviously didn't find the activity fun. Judging by the picture, it pained him to perform squats despite having a spotter or trainer behind him. Many people can relate to how exercising can make them feel, but there are tons of benefits to staying active.

It helps in weight management, improves sleep quality, and reduces the risk of acquiring illnesses. Psychologists also advise this to handle stress since the activity stimulates the release of serotonin and dopamine, which improves mood.

The Most Evident Abs of All

Six pack abs don't happen overnight, but in this case, you can bake it in about an hour. This hilarious photo shows that with some creativity and a thinking-outside-the-box mindset, you can achieve your desires. The guy with the bread rolls goes by the name Just Sul on Instagram, which explains why the man in green asked for a photo.

This social media superstar boasts over six million followers on Instagram, where he usually shares memes of himself. The Indian gained worldwide fame after creating parodies of celebrity photos without breaking his fourth wall. Fun fact: stars like Snoop Dogg and Ludacris are his fans.

Band On The Run

If we could give this guy a bit of advice, it's to never tie resistance bands to floor pads because they will seek revenge. We're not certain how the guy is doing nowadays, but by the looks of how the heavy pad hit him, we sure hope his neck and back weren't badly injured.

This is why it's crucial to attach the bands to something heavy, stable, or secured like a pole or held by someone strong enough not to let go. Resistance bands could promote strength and endurance, but there are two things that can turn the situation ugly: you accidentally letting go of it or they break and slap you.

Leap of Faith?

Again, this is one of those GIFs when we're not sure if we're impressed or downright puzzled. This guy was obviously using the dual cable cross arm resistance machine in a bizarre manner, although we can't say if it was a wrong move.

The guy could have gotten confused as to how the equipment actually works, a common predicament for newbie gym-goers. Although technically it is a safe machine, you can take extra precautions to avoid accidents like checking for damage in the cable or weights and giving yourself ample space to move before starting.
