For more than seven decades, Carl Reiner has made us laugh consistently and passionately, with his crisp writing and impeccable acting. The fact that he is an all-rounder is evident in his most prominent work, which he wrote, acted in, produced, and created:  The Dick Van Dyke Show.

Although all this looks like the result of extensive training acquired through a media degree, apart from perhaps a few workshops, Reiner developed his skills on his own. Although in an uncredited role, you would still catch Reiner in  Ocean's 8.

Mel Brooks, 93, Born In 1926 -  Leap!

A proud member of the EGOT clan, which includes those performers who have won all of the most coveted awards in the entertainment industry, including an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and a Tony, Mel Brooks has no plans of slowing down as he is now providing a voice for a character in an untitled  Lani Pixels Project having completed  Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation due to release in July 2018.

It's surprising that instead of going to a film school, Mel went to the military right after finishing school, considering how his career has panned out!

Cher, 73, Born in 1946 -  Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

Cher gained stardom after she sang with her husband Sonny Bono "I Got You, Babe". Later they both appeared on  The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour together. Cher went on to make a solo career for herself and topped the charts with hits like " Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves," and  "Dark Lady."

Not only that she is also an actress and has won an  Academy Award for her remarkable performance in  Moonstruck. Cher took a break and released an album after 12 years  Closer to the Truth. Recently in 2018 made a come back to the big screen in  Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!.

Daryl Hannah, 59, Born In 1960 -   The Fury

Daryl Hannah rose to prominence after appearing in her first film  The Fury and later on had a successful career starring in the famous  Blade Runner franchise. Her other blockbuster films included,  Kill Bill and  Summer Lovers to name a few. She married Neil Young in 2018, while she is an environmental activist and a vegan, which probably explains her healthy state at such an age.

Despite being 58 years old, Hannah definitely won't opt for retirement yet, and in 2018 she starred in the drama film  Papa. Moreover, from 2015 to 2018 she landed the main role in the TV series  Sense8.

Elinor Donahue, 83, Born In 1937 - Father Knows Best

Ever since she was a young child, Elinor Donahue’s been spending her life in between film sets. She was born in 1937, and by the ‘40s, she had already started acting. Eventually, Donahue landed a role in the Father Knows Best series, and the rest is history!

Today she is 83 years old with a $3-million fortune. Donahue’s been in anything from The Andy Griffith Show to, most recently, The Young and the Restless in 2011. The last time she was on TV was in 2016 with Star Trek: Inside the Roddenberry Vault documentary.

Marianne Faithfull, 73, Born In 1946 - As Tears Go By

In 2020, like many others, Marianne Faithfull contracted coronavirus. Thankfully, she was able to recover relatively with no complications. Marianne is in her 70s by now, and she’s been around on the industry since the ‘60s. She’s credited for songs like As Tears Go By and films like The Girl on a Motorcycle.

Marianne’s one of England’s most famous artists by now and has never stopped making art. Her latest album was published in 2018, called Negative Capability. Meanwhile, the last film in which she played was The Girl from Nagasaki in 2013. She’s now expected to participate in the upcoming documentary film called Dad Strangelove.

Lauren Chapin, 75, Born In 1945 - Father Knows Best

She was less than ten years old when she landed the role of Kathy Anderson in the Father Knows Best series of the ‘50s. Lauren Chapin was born in 1945 in Los Angeles. By the time she reached adolescence, she had already won many Junior Emmy Awards for Best Child Actress.

By the ‘80s, Lauren decided to stop acting after playing in Scout’s Honour. She only ever made one comeback in 2016 with the series called School Bus Diaries. Lauren’s reportedly working as a manager to live performers on cruises. She is 75 years old and is worth anywhere up to $6 million.

Jay North, 68, Born In 1951 - Dennis the Menace

Jay North was born in 1951 in Los Angeles, and before the ’50s came to an end, he had already found himself acting for the camera. Jay got to portray the infamous Dennis in the Dennis the Menace series of the ’50s and ’60s. He continued acting for the following years until he decided to stop in the ’80s.

Today, Jay is 68 years old. The last time he found himself on TV was in 2011 with the documentary called The Actor’s Journey. He’s reportedly been working closely with the non-profit called A Minor Consideration, which was founded by Paul Peterson, to give support and guidance to young performers.

Dean Stockwell, 84, Born In 1936 - Quantum Leap

As a child, Dean Stockwell found himself signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer productions. He got to start off his career playing in films like Anchors Aweigh and The Green Years. He didn’t just stop there, however, as he maintained an active acting career as an adult as well.

Before retiring, he played in series like Quantum Leap and films like Compulsion. The last time he acted was in 2015, with a movie called Entertainment. A year later, he participated in the documentary called Along for the Ride. Stockwell is 84 by now and happily married to Joy Marchenko since 1981.

Shirley Jones, 85, Born In 1934 -  The Partridge Family

Shirley Jones can boast a highly successful career in acting. It began in '53 with her standout performance in the film  Elmer Gantry, for which she won an Academy Award. Her savings account surely had a huge boost in its balance after that.

Jones also starred in the hit TV show,  The Partridge Family, as Shirley Partridge. She played Ruth in the TV movie,  The Irresistible Blueberry Farm, in 2016. Now in her 80s, Jones is a proud grandmother of ten grandkids and has accumulated wealth to the tune of $25M.

Robyn Hilton, 75, Born In 1944 - Blazing Saddles

Even though her Hollywood career was brief, Robyn Hilton made quite the impression. She was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, back in 1949, July. In the ‘70s, she got to play in hit-films like Blazing Saddles, The Single Girls, and even Malibu Express in 1985. That was, however, the last time she acted.

She also briefly modeled for various magazines during that time. Today, Robyn is in her 70s and lives her life away from the spotlight. She’s been married and divorced twice, first to William Hilton in the ‘60s, and later to Alan Mihoces, in 1990, and whom she divorced in 2016.

Stefanie Powers, 77, Born In 1942 - Hart to Hart

She was born in 1943, and by the ‘60s, Stephanie Powers was already landing one role after another. She started out quite successfully, even playing in McLintock, but it wasn’t until she landed a role in the Hart to Hart series when she really got recognized.

Stephanie is now in her late 70s and is still very much around. The last time she acted was in 2019 with The Artist’s Wife. For now, she will be participating in the upcoming documentary film called Boris Karloff: The Man Behind the Monster. Overall she has accumulated a $9-million fortune.

Tony Bennett couldn't complete his college degree program at New York's School of Industrial Art because he had to drop out and support his family financially. Rhonda Fleming, 96,  Born In 1923 -  Waiting for the Wind

She last performed in a role back in 1990 short called  Waiting for the Wind. The camera truly loved her, as her red hair and fair complexion made her look absolutely perfect in technicolor back in the day.

Only in her late teens, before she could even begin to contemplate enrolling in a film school, Marilyn Louis  (original name) was stopped in the middle of the street and signed-on for a 7-year long contract by Henry Willson, a famous Hollywood agent, who also gave her the screen name, Rhonda Fleming.

Elliott Gould, 81, Born In 1938 - Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice

Elliott Gould began his professional career as an actor in the '60s. His big break came in 1969 when he received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. Gould later became a household name after starring in The Long Goodbye and  M*A*S*H.

At 81 years old, Gould is still consistently making money as an actor. He most recently appeared on a film called Dangerous Lies, and on an episode of the series titled Grace and Frankie. Gould's also part of the National Board of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild.

Glynis Johns, 96, Born In 1923 -  Superstar

It's amazing to think that a career which started at the end of the '30s came to an end at the turn of the millennium for Glynis Johns, and it comes as no surprise that she has won a Tony and been nominated for an Oscar, considering the length of her career.

Johns did not earn a formal drama degree to qualify for a career in film. Instead, she started off as a dancer, graduated to stage, and eventually settled at film and TV roles, her last being in the 1999 film  Superstar as Grandma.

Sam Elliott's signature mustache and deep voice are actually unforgettable. His macho image earned him a lot of prominent roles in Western movies and shows. However, he has also participated in blockbusters such as  The Big Lebowski and  Ghost Rider.

The songs that Diana Ross has sung are every bit as timeless as her. She was born in Michigan back in 1944. Now, in her mid-70s, she’s proving her worth both as a singer and as a performing. In 2019, she went on two tours, and she even has one scheduled for 2020.

As far as her songs go, Stop! In the Name of Love, Baby Love and You Keep Me Hangin’ On have never stopped playing on the radio! Diana’s got a $250 million fortune, meaning she could’ve easily stopped performing by now. However, she chooses not to, and finds incredible success in doing so!

Gene Reynolds, 96, Born In 1923 -  Captain Nice

You'd expect the once President of the Directors Guild of America to have at least attended film school, but Gene Reynolds is beyond convention. Although he started off as an actor with a screen debut in the '30s, Reynolds later shifted focus to the behind-the-camera side of the industry and became a producer and a director.

And it is in that capacity that Reynolds achieved true success, especially for having co-created one of the most popular TV shows ever,  M*A*S*H. Gene proved that you don't always need a degree to achieve success!

 

Vera Lynn, 102, Born In 1917 -  We'll Meet Again

At the time of the Second World War, while the world battled it out, Vera Lynn was busy making some of the best music the world had ever heard. She often performed for the troops, and grew immense popularity for her art, especially with songs like  We'll Meet Again.

Considering that she started performing at age seven, it is remarkable that Vera Lynn is still around, having released her latest album  Vera Lynn 100 in 2017 to mark her 100th birthday. She is known for her charity work, especially with causes connected to the Second World War.

Barbara Eden, 88, Born In 1931 -  Shimmer and Shine

Barbara Eden discovered a gold mine when she landed the role of Jeanie in the popular '60s sitcom,  I Dream of Jeannie, a role that catapulted her to the peak of success. But she deserved it, as the singer and actress had received extensive training from multiple institutions, although we're not sure if she actually graduated with a degree from any of them.

Her recent works would show you she is not very active anymore, as the last project she worked on was in 2016 when she lent her voice to a character on an episode of  Shimmer and Shine.

Dame Julie Andrews was everyone's beloved nanny in 1964's  Mary Poppins. It was her first o-screen movie role at 30, and it blasted her into an amazing career and a sweet salary. It opened the door for her in the 1965 classic film  The Sound of Music, which was a runaway hit.

In addition to her many Broadway shows and movie musicals, she's done voice acting for a variety of popular characters in animation such as in the movies  Shrek Forever After and  Despicable Me. In the 2018  Aquaman movie, she actually did the voice of Kara then. Now in her 80s, Andrews boasts a net worth totaling $45M.

Cloris Leachman, 93, Born In 1926 -  I Can Only Imagine

Cloris Leachman was 82 years old but that didn't stop her from signing up for  Dancing with the Stars back in 2008. The legendary actress has around 278 acting credits to her name, and she has done justice to all her roles. Leachman earned her bachelor's degree in drama from Illinois State University, and then later enrolled in Northwestern University.

In hindsight, that degree has definitely paid off wonderfully. Make sure to catch her in  Lez Bomb due to release in 2018, or listen to her voice as Gran in  The Croods 2, due in 2020.

Jerry Mathers, 71, Born in 1948 -  Leave It to Beaver

Jerry Mathers started out quite early in the show business. In fact, he was only 9 years old when he appeared in  Leave It to Beaver. Mathers was able to stay in the show for six years as everyone's favorite little kid, Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver. Over the years, he appeared in  This is My Love, Men of the Fighting Lady and  The Trouble with Harry. 

Mathers had to retire from acting in his teenage years to focus on high school. Today, he is married to his partner for five years, Teresa Mednick. Mathers has also worked as a  Jenny Craig spokesman, following his battle with type-2 diabetes. 

Bobby Diamond, 76, Born In 1943 - Fury

Bobby Diamond became known in the acting scene in the mid-1950s when he started playing Joey Clark Newton in the show,  Fury. He got cast for the role after a talent scout saw him around Los Angeles. On the big screen, Diamond is best known for the roles he had on  Airborne, Scream, and  Billie.

Diamond hasn't been acting for more than two decades already but he was able to pursue a career as an attorney in California. It seems like Diamond prefers his law career to a career in show business.

Warren Beatty, 82, Born In 1937 -  Bonnie and Clyde

Warren Beatty has been pursuing acting since the 1950s and today, he has numerous awards to his name. Some of his best performances were in movies like  Bonnie and Clyde,  Splendor in the Grass, and  Reds. Beatty did not only excel in acting for he found success as a director as well.

Beatty directed films like  Heaven Can Wait and Dick Tracy. The last movie he directed and acted in was  Rules Don't Apply, in 2016.  There is no news about Beatty being checked in the hospital or anything so we're guessing he remains to be very healthy to this day.

Jerry Lee Lewis, 84, Born In 1935 -  Red Oaks

There is a reason why Jerry Lee Lewis is also known as The Killer - he slew his audience with his electric tunes, figuratively of course. His mother also wanted him to get a high education, however, and she enrolled him in a Christian university where performing anything other than evangelical songs was not possible.

But The Killer didn't subside and eventually got expelled from there for playing tunes in his style. Lewis truly has lived a phenomenal life and isn't stopping. He last performed the song,  Great Balls of Fire, for the TV show,  Red Oaks.

Jackie Mason, 91, Born In 1928 -  The Simpsons

Jackie Mason realized he wanted to be a comedian with the passage of time. After securing a bachelor's degree in English and Sociology, he became a rabbi, only to discover that his sermons were becoming increasingly funnier.

With his father's passing, he decided to become a full-time comedian, and it's a good thing that he did because his comic style, sometimes politically incorrect, is one of the most unique the world has ever witnessed. Although he isn't working as much as he used to, he did voice a character in  The Simpsons recently.

Dwayne Hickman, 85, Born In 1934 -  The Bob Cummings Show

During the 1950s, Dwayne Hickman was well known for portraying the role of Chuck MacDonald in the show called  The Bob Cummings Show. His other notable portrayal was on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. In 1977, Hickman started working behind the scenes at  CBS as a  programming executive.

Hickman's last acting role was on  Angels with Angles. He hasn't been in the limelight since then but he sure has taken good care of his health all these years because he is still very much around at his age of 84.

Michael J. Pollard, 80, Born In 1939 -  Bonnie and Clyde

Back in the late 1960s, actor Michael John Pollard was known for having given life to the role of C.W. Moss in the movie  Bonnie and Clyde. His portrayal of the character got him nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award at the Golden Globe and Academy Awards. His other popular roles from back then were on  Niagara Falls,  Enter Laughing, and Little Fauss and Big Halsy. 

Pollard is not in retirement yet and sources have indicated that he has a role in an upcoming movie called,  The Next Cassavetes, so we have to wait and see.

Carl Weathers left the B.C Lions for Hollywood and a career in acting. And he definitely doesn't regret it! Born in 1948, the Louisiana-born athlete and actor saw the breakthrough in his career with his performance as Apollo Creed in the  Rocky franchise. Apart from his roles in famous movies, Weathers also appeared in Michael Jackson’s music video clip for his song  Liberian Girl!

Now in his 70s, Weathers has no intention of retirement since he is already preparing for his new movie,  Easter, coming up next year!  Weathers has two children and he's gotten married thrice, with all three of his marriages has led to a divorce.

 

Chuck Yeager, 96, Born In 1923 -  Flying Without Fear

The reason why Chuck Yeager is on this list is that he was the first to have achieved the supposedly impossible as an Air Force officer: flying a plane at speeds greater than the speed of sound. Yeager went on to create many more records, and after entering retirement, lived to tell the amazing tales of his many adventures while serving in the Air Force.

One such TV movie which chronicles some of his adventures is  Flying Without Fear, which is highly recommended to all those who wish to know more about the amazing life of Chuck Yeager.

David Attenborough, 93, Born In 1926 -  The Queen's Green Planet

There is a natural calm in the voice of Sir David Attenborough, which is partly why watching  Planet Earth was an absolute treat even to those not very fond of documentaries. You'd think that since he's worked with the BBC for so many years that he must have a media degree but in reality,

Attenborough has capitalized on his specialization in natural sciences to create aesthetically appealing yet highly informative and entertaining documentaries. He has been called a national treasure in Britain, although he is not particularly fond of the term.

Dolores Hart, 81, Born In 1938 -  God Is Bigger Than Elvis

Can you believe Dolores Hart left a rising and successful Hollywood career to become a nun? Well, she chronicles it all in the 2012 documentary short  God Is Bigger Than Elvis. The last time she appeared as an actress was back in the '60s, after which, she entrusted her career management to God.

Hart utilized her skills and expertise in the arts and promoted the development of theater at the abbey, using her fame to generate the required funding for it.

Marsha Hunt, 102, Born In 1917 -  Marsha Hunt's Sweet Adversity

After finishing school, Marsha Hunt wanted to pursue a college degree in drama, however, she was unable to find a program suitable for her and began modeling instead while taking acting classes. She has now turned over 100 years old, and rightfully retired from working.

Her last work was in the 2008 TV movie  Empire State Building Murders, although she continues to appear in documentaries, famously in one about her own life called  Marsha Hunt's Sweet Adversity, which also includes a new song she wrote 40 years ago called  Here's To All Who Love.

Caren Marsh-Doll,  100, Born In 1919 -  The Gabby Hayes Show

Although Caren Marsh stopped being an actress towards the end of the '40s, she is still regarded as one for having worked on numerous films in the earlier part of her career. However, as far as skill is concerned, she emerged to become a dancer and was famously hired as Judy Garland's dance stand-in for  The Wizard Of Oz.

Although her parents wanted her to pursue further education, possibly a college degree, she chose to enter the profession directly. After  The Gabby Hayes Show in 1956, she left acting and became a full-time dance instructor.

Marge Champion, 100, Born In 1919 -  Fame

Marge Champion is what people call a child prodigy. Having started dancing at a very young age, Marge established herself as a ballet instructor at a studio that her father owned. Her skill caught the eye of Walt Disney Studios and hired her for  Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as a dance model.

Her later success came from MGM musicals, Broadway performances, TV shows, and films. Her last formal screen role was in the TV show  Fame, although she has appeared in numerous documentaries after that.

Mickey Kuhn, 87, Born In 1932 -  Alfred Hitchcock Presents

It's surprising that Mickey Kuhn rose in prominence for his work in  Gone With The Wind, considering he was only around 7 years old at the time. But, being one of the only three surviving cast members of the film today shows how far back Kuhn's career goes.

However, when the time was right to enroll in a film school, Kuhn decided to retire from show-business, and instead went for a career in commercial aviation. He last appeared on a few episodes of the TV show  Alfred Hitchcock Presents. 

Gloria Henry, 96, Born In 1923 -  Parks and Recreation

It's very difficult to forget about the stars who were once a part of an amazing sitcom, and the cast of  Dennis the Menace holds such a place in our hearts. Gloria Henry, who played the character of Alice on the show, is one such actress. She attended Worcester Art Museum School, although we're not sure if she got her degree or left before its culmination.

Annie Ross, 89, Born In 1930 - Let Me Sing

Annie Ross is known more for her singing talent than for her acting skills, but she has achieved stardom in both. Originally a Brit, Ross became an American citizen in the year 2001.

She is remembered for being a member of the  Lambert, Hendricks, & Ross, a jazz vocal trio which disbanded in 1964 with any hopes of reunion quashed with the unfortunate death in a car accident of Lambert in 1966. Her film career ended in 1996 with a role in  The Ring of Truth, while her last solo album was  Let Me Sing, released in 2005.

Ed Asner, 90, Born In 1929 -  Citizen's United

There is a perception that movie stars don't go to college, but Ed Asner did attend the University of Chicago, although we're not sure whether he received a media degree or some other degree from there. Regardless, the actor went on to become one of the greatest talents Hollywood has ever seen and is now rightfully considered a legend.

Having won seven Emmy awards, the most won by any actor in history, Ed is currently booked to appear in more than 17 projects, which explains how the star has been able to amass around 380 acting credits.

Earl Cameron, 102, Born in 1917 -  Doctor Who

The Bermuda-born English actor Earl Cameron turned 100. He became one of the first black actors to portray a starring role thanks to 1951's  Pool of London. Since the '60s, Cameron has appeared in numerous sci-fi programs such as  The Prisoner and  Doctor Who.

There is a theatre named after him in Hamilton, Bermuda and he was also appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2009. Before he opted for retirement, he appeared in  Inception in 2010.

Cora Sue Collins, 92, Born In 1927 -  Week-End at the Waldorf

Cora Sue Collins is one of those few actresses who retired quite early  (she was only 18 years old) despite a blossoming career, probably because she settled down. Hence, there was no point in going to a film school to further polish her skills like many of her colleagues.

The actress started acting when she was only five years old with the film  The Unexpected Father in 1932, so that explains how she amassed 47 acting credits in such a short period, and her last one was for the 1945 film,  Week-End at the Waldorf.

Joe Turkel, 92, Born In 1927 -  Boy Meets World

Right around the time when aspiring actors enroll in a film school, Joe Turkel enrolled in the US Army as the country engaged in World War II. But as soon as he was done with that, he came back to pursue his dream.

His most famous role has to be in  Blade Runner as Dr. Elden Tyrell, although how can we not mention his eccentric and soul-shaking performance as Lloyd in  The Shining? He appeared for one final time in 1998 in an episode of  Boy Meets World, although he was seen in a few documentaries after that as well.

Donna Martell, 92, Born In 1927 -  Grace Kelly

Towards the end of the '40s, Donna Martell kick-started her career with  Apache Rose. However, as the '50s arrived, she shifted focus to TV shows, famously in  Cavalcade of America and  Cheyenne. She did not get any formal high education, though it would've gone to waste anyway considering her career came to a halt at the beginning of the '60s, and we're not sure why.

She did just one more role after two decades in the 1983 TV film  Grace Kelly, but that was the last time we saw her on-screen.

Conrad Janis, 91, Born In 1928 -  Bad Blood

You may know Conrad Janis as an actor, and rightfully so, considering he has performed in around 99 roles over the course of his acting career. But Janis has also striven throughout his life to keep the traditional jazz music alive, playing the trombone.

There is no record of him having attended any film schools, although he seems to have done quite well without it as well. He last performed in the 2012 film  Bad Blood, which he also edited, produced, and directed. Hopefully, we'll see something more from him in the future.

Peggy Dow, 91, Born In 1928 -  I Want You

She was born with the name Peggy V. Varnadow, which she changed to Helmerich after marrying her husband Walter Helmerich III, although professionally, she came to be known simply as Peggy Dow. Peggy attended Northwestern University, but instead of getting a university-level media degree, she graduated from the School of Communication which did offer rehearsal spaces to help her practice her craft.

Her career ended just after three years when she married Helmerich, with one final role in the film,  I Want You.

Nancy Olson, 91, Born In 1928 -  Dumbbells

Unlike many of her contemporaries, Nancy Olson has not retired even now that she is close to hitting 90, and that's maybe because she has enjoyed a very lucrative career over the years. The actress started out towards the end of the '40s and received an Oscar nomination quite early just two years later for her film,  Sunset Boulevard.

She is a Democrat at heart and often donates substantially to the party, although none could actually call that charity. After the '80s, she does make an occasional appearance in a movie or TV show, her latest being in the 2014 film,  Dumbbells.

Ann Blyth, 91, Born In 1928 -  Murder, She Wrote

We are lucky to have Ann Blyth still with us as she is one of the last surviving actresses from what has come to be known as Hollywood's Golden Age. Blyth started out with Broadway after having spent six years on children's radio shows. After signing a deal with Universal Studios, her film debut came with  Chip of the Old Block.

But her most notable role remains in  Mildred Pierce, which also earned her an Oscar nomination. She entered retirement in 1985 after one last appearance on an episode of the TV show,  Murder, She Wrote.

Kris Kristofferson, 83, Born In 1936 -  Kristofferson

Kris Kristofferson is surely among the top country singers in the world, having written numerous hit tunes. Many people believe that his self-titled album is the best he ever released. He's also a very successful actor who has won a Golden Globe Award for his performance in  A Star Is Born.

While Kristofferson is still active in the industry, he suffers from Lyme Disease and needs to be treated frequently. The now 82-year-old singing star has 8 children.

Diana Serra Cary, 101, Born In 1918 -  Broncho Billy and the Bandit's Secret

Once dubbed the "Million Dollar Baby", Baby Peggy  (originally named Peggy-jean Montgomery and later adopting the name Diana Serra Cary) did not have enough funds to attend film school by the time she reached maturity as her parents spent all of her income on luxuries.

A pioneer child star, she stopped working sometime in the '30s. However, she recently made an appearance in the short  Broncho Billy and the Bandit's Secret.

Kathleen Hughes, 90, Born In 1928 -  Swamp Women Kissing Booth

According to a 1970 news piece, Kathleen Hughes developed an interest in acting after watching a Donald O'Connor film, as she thought it looked like fun. Her acting career was mostly divided between 20th Century Fox and then later Universal Studios.

Although she never officially embraced retirement, we thought her acting career did come to a stop in 1998 after eight years of inactivity with one final yet small role. However, she appeared in a short called  Swamp Women Kissing Booth in 2018, so we may get to see more of her after all!

 Chevy Chase, 76, Born in 1943 -  National Lampoon

Chevy Chase is unstoppable at 74 and has no worries about a retirement investment yet. We met him when he was 35 in his first leading role in the mystery-thriller/comedy,  Foul Play.

However, even before that, Chase had already tried out quite a few professions before deciding that what he really wanted was to become an actor! Chase's last movie was a Netflix flick titled  The Last Laugh, where he co-stars with Richard Dreyfuss.

Terry Moore, 90, Born In 1929 -  Ray Donovan

Terry Moore is not slowing down even though most of her acting contemporaries have retired since long ago. According to IMDb, Moore has four upcoming projects in 2018 and 2019 combined, including the much anticipated  Saving Flora.

Her last appearance was in 2016 on an episode of  Ray Donovan, so it seems she is picking up the pace yet again and will be returning to the screen as she used to in the good old days.

Tommy Rall, 90, Born In 1929 -  Saturday the 14th Strikes Back

You can take the word of Donald O'Connor, also a great dancer, when he called Tommy Rall among the greatest dancers alive right now. Tommy specialized in tap, ballet, and acrobatic dancing styles, which made him quite popular especially during the '50s when he featured in multiple musical comedies.

Apparently, it all started when his mother enrolled him in a dance training program at a young age as he had trouble reading due to a crossed eye. The last time we saw him was on  Saturday the 14th Strikes Back, a 1988 fantasy/comedy/horror film.

Kathleen Turner, 65, Born In 1954 -  Body Heat

Kathleen Turner made huge waves in Hollywood with her gorgeous looks & brilliant acting appearing in super hit films including, ‘Body Heat’ & ‘Romancing The Stone’ to name a few. Before she stepped into tinsel town, she also acted in Broadway in critically acclaimed shows like ‘Cat On a Hot Tin Roof’ & even got nominated for her stellar performance.

Norman Lloyd, 105, Born In 1914 -  Fly

He's done it. As of 2018, Norman Lloyd is officially the oldest American actor alive right now who is still working. When he was still a teenager, the Great Depression made him leave his law degree at the NYU, considering the tough financial circumstances.

But, that was definitely a blessing in disguise as he went on to audition and start his journey in the industry. With over eight decades of service, Lloyd refuses to rest as he recently appeared on the TV show,  Fly.

Melissa Sue Anderson, 57, Born In 1962,  Little House on the Prairie

Melissa Sue Anderson is better known by her character's name. You must know her by Mary Ingalls from hit drama series  Little House on the Prairie that aired on NBC network from 1974 till 1981.

After that, Melissa became an instant icon and through the years she got herself roles in various horror/science fiction projects. While the actress still has the scope in Hollywood, she occasionally appears on TV and she has taken the duties of a stay-at-home mother.

Did you know that Van Dyke finished school in 2004 when he was 78 years old? Well, that is the kind of amazing life he has lived so far, and the actor, who is now in his 90s, continues to make films. You will soon see him alongside the likes of Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt in the much-awaited  Mary Poppins Returns come December 2018.

You usually expect actors with Emmys, a Tony, and a Grammy, to at least have a media degree. Instead, Van Dyke initially wanted to serve in the military and was rejected numerous times for being underweight.

Margaret Kerry, 90, Born In 1929 -  Public Access

Technically, Margaret Kerry is still working, even though her last acting project was in the 1993 film  Public Access. Her career started when she was still in school, which makes sense considering she was born in the hub of films, Los Angeles.

She made education her priority and graduated from Los Angeles City College, although we're not sure which field her degree was in. She most recently published her own biography titled  Tinker Bell Talks: Tales of a Pixie Dusted Life in 2016.

Ted Donaldson, 86, Born In 1933 -  The Silent Service

Ted Donaldson didn't need to go to a film school because he began his acting career around the age of 4 and grew up making films, thereby gaining more experience in the field that many do at a much later stage in life.

Donaldson wanted to do other things in life, and for just this reason he left show-business in his 20s, making his last credited appearance on the TV show  The Silent Service in 1958.

Eva Marie Saint, 95, Born In 1924 -  Winter's Tale

Eva Marie Saint realized her dream of becoming an actress by enrolling in an acting degree program at the Bowling Green State University, and now the university has a theater named after her. From then on, for around seven decades, Eva Marie has relentlessly worked as an actress and has won multiple awards for her amazing performances, including an Oscar for her 1954 film  On The Waterfront.

She most recently appeared for a small role in  Winter's Tale and lent her voice for a character on the animated TV series,  The Legend of Korra.

John Astin, 89, Born in 1930 -  The Addams Family

His most famous role remains that of Gomez Addams from  The Addams Family. He also reprised his role in the 1977 film  Halloween with the Addams Family. John Austin also appeared in  West Side Story,  The Touch of Mink, and  Move Over Darling among many others.

He earned a drama degree at John Hopkins University where he also teaches acting and directing. The actor is still very much active even at 88 years old.

Robert Wagner, 89, Born in 1930 -  It Takes a Thief

Even if you have forgotten his roles in  It Takes A Thief and  Switch, you may remember his more recent role as Teddy Leopold from  Two and a Half Men where he portrays the love interest of Charlie and Alan Harper's mother.

Robert Wagner also appeared in the  Austin Powers trilogy as well as in  The Pink Panther, Harper, and many more. The 88-year-old is still working despite a $15-million net worth. Last year, he appeared in  What Happened to Monday as Charles Benning.

Dawn Wells, 81, Born in 1938 -  Gilligan's Island

Here's another star from  Gilligan's Island. Dawn Wells and Tina Louise are the last two of the regular cast members of the sitcom. Unlike her co-star Tina, Wells did reprise her role in the reunion specials such as  Gilligan's Planet.

Wells may be off the spotlight now, but the 79-year-old is still alive and well. In fact, she is still active and runs a business, Wishing Well Collections. She is also known for her charity work, supporting Denver Foundation.

Harry Belafonte, 92, Born in 1927 -  Calypso

Harry Belafonte is undoubtedly one of the most famous Jamaican-American pop stars who made a huge success with his 1956 album  Calypso. Harry is a singer, songwriter, actor, and social activist who is still active despite his advanced age.

The 91-year-old was an honorary co-chair of the Women's March on Washington in 2017. He and his ex-wife filed for divorce after 47 years of marriage. He also has 5 grandchildren.

Larry Storch, 96, Born in 1923 -  Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales

You may have forgotten all about him, but this 95-year old comedian is still very much alive. He started his career as a stand-up comic and then started making guest appearances in TV series such as  Car 54, Where Are You?, Hennesey, and  Get Smart.

Larry Storch spent his entire life with his wife Norma Catherine Greve until she died in 2003. Larry is now enjoying his well-deserved retirement and in 2014, he was honored with a Golden Palm Star on the California Walk of Stars.

Hugh Downs, 98, Born in 1921 -  Today

The retired television host Hugh Downs is best known as a co-host of  Today, an NBC News Program. He was also the host of a game show called  Concentration from 1958 to 1969 and a sidekick of Tonight Starring Jack Paar. He is the author of many books and also wrote a column for  Science Digest in the '60s.

This 95-year-old has also appeared in several movies such as 1964's  A Global Affair. Hugh's wife died in 2017 at the age of 95.

Charlotte Rae, 93, Born in 1926 -  Diff'rent Stroker

Best known as Edna Garrett from  Diff'rent Stroker, Charlotte Rae had a long and fruitful career. She also appeared in the spin-off of the popular sitcom  The Facts of Life as well as the two movies  The Facts of Life Goes  to Paris and  The Facts of Life Reunion. The 92-year-old had her share of health problems.

After some of her family members died of pancreatic cancer, she was diagnosed with the disease as well and underwent chemotherapy in 2009. She also had a pacemaker implanted in her chest.

Suzy Delair, 102, Born in 1917 -  The Last One of the Six

Not many people get to celebrate their 100th birthday as this French lady did last year. Suzy Delair is a French actress and singer who had several notable roles such as in  The Last One of the Six and  The Murderer Lives at Number 21.

Known for her song  Avec son tra la la, Delair also had a memorable role in the 1947 film  Quai des Orfevres and other minor roles in less successful projects. The 100-year-old lives out of the spotlight in Paris, France.

Nehemiah Persoff, 100, Born in 1919 -  Some Like It Hot

His family emigrated to the United States in 1929 and Nehemiah then earned a degree from Hebrew Technical Institute. His first notable role was in  Some Like It Hot in 1959. Persoff's career spans more than 50 years during which he appeared in over 200 TV series, plays, and films.

His final film role was in 1999's  4 Faces before he stopped acting and decided to dedicate his time to painting. The 98-year-old is still alive and lives with his wife Thia in Cambria, California.

Loretta Lynn, 87, Born In 1932 -  Lay Me Down

Loretta Lynn needs no introduction as she is one of the defining voices in the country music genre. She has been awarded the most coveted honors in country music by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. And all this without ever taking formal guitar lessons; she's actually self-taught!

Having sold over 45 million albums around the world, Loretta is not backing down, as she released her most recent album in 2016 called  Full Circle. The album included her single  Lay Me Down which has received much praise overall.

Robert Duvall, 88, Born in 1931 - The Godfather

Actor/filmmaker Robert Duvall was nominated for seven Academy Awards throughout his long and successful career. He appeared in notable projects such as  To Kill a Mocking Bird, The Twilight Zone, The Godfather, and  The Godfather Part II.

Duval doesn't have any children but he was married four times. After three divorces, he married Luciana Pedraza in 2005 and they are still together. Although already at 87, the actor refuses to slow down. This year, he appeared in the movie  Widows.

Michael Caine, 86, Born in 1933 -  Alfie

This English actor, author, and producer appeared in more than 115 films. Regarded as an icon, Michael Caine rose to stardom thanks to his roles in  Zulu, The Ipcress File, and  Alfie. For his performance in  Hannah and Her Sisters, Caine received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

The 85-year-old lives in a Leatherhead, Surrey estate where he has built a house with a movie theatre. Born as Maurice Joseph Micklewhite, he adopted the name Michael Caine in 1954.

Annette Warren, 97, Born in 1922 - Vocal Dubbing in the film  Showboat

Perhaps you don't remember the popular jazz and song stylist Annette Warren, but this 96-year-old is still performing. She was discovered in 1945 when she made her first recordings. Annette made her radio debut the next year and the rest is history. She was hugely successful in clubs and theatres and started making television appearances.

It seems like retirement planning is not on her mind as she still performs in clubs in Hollywood and even headlined at the New York cabaret and restaurant Feinstein's/54 Below in 2017.

Irene Papas, 93, Born in 1926 -  The Guns of Navarone

The Greek beauty has starred in over 70 films in her long career spanning more than 50 years. The retired actress and singer Irene Papas became an international star after  The Guns of Navarone and  Zorba the Greek.

The 91-year-old is alive and well, and obviously, she has discovered some anti-aging secret we are not aware of because she is defying age. She doesn't act anymore and her last known role was in  A Talking Picture in 2003.

William Daniels, 92, Born in 1927 -  St. Elsewhere

His role as Dr. Mark Craig in the medical drama  St. Elsewhere brought him two Emmy Awards. But aside from that, he is also famous for appearing in  Boys Meet World as Mr. Feeny.  If you have been wondering whatever happened to William Daniels, we'll have you know that the 91-year-old actor is alive and well.

He married Bonnie Bartlet in 1951 and they have been together ever since. After the death of their newborn, they got two sons through adoption.

Jerry Stiller, 92, Born in 1927 -  Seinfeld

This comedy legend is the father of another legend—Ben Stiller. Jerry Stiller spent many years in the Stiller and Meara team, with his wife Anne Meara. The comedian has appeared in movie projects with his son such as  Zoolander and  Heavyweights. Known for his yelling acting style, the 91-year-old has been active until recently.

He remained married to Meara until her death in 2015. He wrote of her and other things in his life in his book titled  Married to Laughter: A Love Story Featuring Anne Meara.

75-year-old Barry Manilow ruled many hearts in the early 1970s by producing hits like  "I Write the Songs," and  "Copacabana (At the Copa)." Barry's fans admired his romantic and sentimental songs for which he sold millions of albums and ended up gaining a grand fan base.

Carole Cook and her husband Tom Troupe were the first husband and wife duo to receive the Theatre Ovation for Lifetime Career Achievement award together. She made appearances in many movies such as  The Incredible Mr. Limpet, Sixten Candles, and  Summer Lovers. She also made frequent appearances on  The Lucy Show and  Here's Lucy.

The 94-year-old actress also supports various organizations. The couple never became parents but they are still together.

Stanley Donen, 95, Born in 1924 -  Singin' in the Rain

His most celebrated works include  Singin' In The Rain and  On The Town, but there are many more notable projects this talented film director and choreographer worked on. Stanly Donen became the last notable surviving director of the Golden Age of Hollywood after the likes of Billy Wilder and George Sidney all died. Donen was married and divorced five times, and has three sons.

His eldest son, the visual effects artist Peter Donen, died of a heart attack in 2003. Stanley has been dating writer and director Elaine May since 1999.

Russ Tamblyn, 85, Born in 1934 -  High School Confidential

Actor/dancer Russ Tamblyn was trained as a gymnast when he was young and these skills were of use to him for his future musical roles. He began his career as a child appearing in  Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. He started landing leading roles from that point on such as in the movie  High School Confidential.

The actor, who has been married three times, is 83 years old. In 2014, he underwent open-heart surgery and was in critical condition for a while, but he reportedly recovered.

George Chakiris, 83, Born in 1934 -  West Side Story

The Greek actor from the  West Side Story is still very much alive and has turned 83. For his role in the movie, he received both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. Though he is mostly retired from acting, George Chakiris is still very active in other fields.

What used to be his hobby is now his full-time occupation as he is now making sterling silver jewelry. He has launched his own brand  George Chakiris Collections.

Liza Minelli, 73, Born in 1946 -  Cabaret

You may have been wondering whatever happened to Liza Minnelli and what she is up to lately. The daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli, who received an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Sally Bowles in  Cabaret, is 72 years old.

This Canadian actor has appeared in numerous Canadian and American productions. Voice actor, producer, director, and screenwriter Michael Ironside is famous for playing villains.

Ironside wrote his first play at the age of 15 and even won the first prize for it in a contest. The actor, now 68, experienced both thyroid and prostate cancer but fortunately survived both. In 2015, he starred in  Turbo Kid as a villain, of course.

Rebecca De Mornay, 60, Born In 1959 -  Risky Business

Since 2015, Rebecca De Mornay has been getting recognized as Dorothy Walker from the  Jessica Jones series. Even though that’s the project for which she’s known nowadays, the truth is that Rebecca’s career dates back many decades. In fact, her career started way back in 1981.

She played in films like  Runaway Train, Risky Business, and even  Wedding Crashers. With such a rich career portfolio, there’s no wonder how she’s been able to accumulate an $11 million fortune for herself! Even though she’s 60 years old right now, she has never stopped acting nor looking incredible! 

Sharon Gless, 76, Born In 1943 -  Cagney & Lagney

She was born back in 1943, and by the time the late '70s came around, Sharon Gless was able to become incredibly famous. However, the role for which she's arguably most remembered was the one she played in the  Cagney & Lagney series in the '80s.

Sharon is 76 years old by now. She got herself in front of the camera for an episode of the  Casualty series in 2018. The following year, she also starred in the TV show called  Constance. We have to give her the thumbs up for how incredibly she looks after all these years.  

Sheila Kuehl, 78, Born In 1941 - The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis

Sheila James Kuehl was known back then for playing Zelda Gilroy in the show, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Kuehl decided to leave the acting scene during the early 1970s and she later started working at UCLA.

By the 1990s, she became a legislator and can take credit for being the first legislator in California who was openly gay. These days, Kuehl is known for being a part of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Let's hope Kuehl follows a healthy lifestyle so that she can have the strength to continue working in the coming years.

Anne Buydens, 100, Born In 1919 -  Kirk Douglas: Before I Forget

In April 2019, Anne Buydens celebrated her 100th birthday. Unfortunately, as she was crossing her 101st year, though, she lost her husband, Kirk Douglas. He died of old age in February 2020. Anne had been married to Kirk since 1954, and together, they’ve had two children, Peter and Michael Douglas.

They met each other on the set of the Act of Love film a year prior to their wedding. Throughout her life, she’s worked as a producer for various film projects, including Deep River and Kirk Douglas: Before I Forget in 2009.

Bob Barker, 95, Born In 1923 -  Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much

We still feel devastated remembering that day when Bob Barker retired from  The Price Is Right. The legend had won our hearts and minds, having spent around 50 years on television, and took off when he felt it was time to leave.

Although maybe attending a film school would've been more appropriate, Barker went for Drury College on a basketball scholarship, earning a degree in economics, and it was here that he received his first exposure to the radio. We last saw him in the 2017 documentary,  Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much.

Beverly Cleary, 103, Born In 1916 -  Two Times The Fun

What makes the writings of Beverly Cleary so emotionally captivating is the depth and emotional realism she brings to her characters. She earned her bachelor's degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley so that obviously contributed to the finesse of her work.

Her novels have been converted into movies and TV shows, most notably the 2010 movie  Ramona and Beezus which starred Selena Gomez. Her last work to be published was called  Two Times The Fun. It was published in 2005.

Janis Paige, 97, Born In 1922 -  Family Law

Janis Paige comes from a time before film schools became a thing when being discovered was the way for aspiring actresses and singers to make it to the top. Paige was similarly discovered at Hollywood Canteen during the Second World War by a Warner Bros. agent.

Fast forward around eight decades and Paige now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, along with a reputation as one of the most versatile actresses of her time, thanks to her impressive singing skills. She last appeared in an episode of  Family Law back in 2001.

William Shatner, 88,  -  Star Trek, Born In 1931

William Shatner will always be associated with his iconic role as Captain James T. Kirk in the   Star Trek TV show during the 1960s. When the series ended, he couldn't get a significant role in another great production and came close to being bankrupt. This might sound odd today in light of the $100M fortune he has in 2019, and the fact that he's still acting.

In 2016 and 2017, he had appearances in the two seasons of  Better Late Than Never, a travelogue on  NBC . Aside from acting, he has authored a number of books too  (well, mostly about his time in Star Trek productions).

Angela Lansbury, 94, Born In 1925 -  Little Women

Angela Lansbury did study acting after moving to the States with her mother and siblings, although we're not sure whether she received any formal media degree or not. The legendary actress has won six Golden Globes, most for her breathtaking performance on the TV show  Murder, She Wrote.

She has also had an illustrious Broadway career, bagging five Tony Awards, including one for the musical  Mame, which also established her as an icon in the gay community. Now, she's all set to grace the big screen in  Mary Poppins Returns.

Tippi Hedren, 89, Born In 1930 -  The Ghost And The Whale

Tippi Hedren started out in fashion modeling and then moved onto the acting world after being discovered by legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock. Her film with him called  The Birds earned her a Golden Globe award, as well as international fame.

Tippi is proof that you don't need to go to a fancy film academy to become a big movie star, as she has had a sustained and a rather successful film career without having attended one. She last appeared in  The Ghost and the Whale, a 2017 film which, unfortunately, did not do very well.

Rita Moreno, 87, -  The King And I, Born In 1931

At age 13, Tinsel Town icon Rita Moreno landed a role in the Broadway play,  Skydrift. It earned her the attention of a number of agents in Hollywood, and this eventually led to various acting parts. Moreno has accomplished something that's rather rare. She is a winner of the four major awards in the acting industry - Grammy, Tony, Emmy, and Oscar. Only eleven others have done the same.

Through her successful 70-year career, she's now worth $25M. In 2019, the 87-year-old Morena has been voicing the character Cookie Booker in the  Netflix animated series,  Carmen Sandiego.

Alan Alda, 83, Born in 1936 -  M*A*S*H

Remember the hit comedy series  M*A*S*H? Well, Alan Alda, the guy who portrayed the role of Hawkeye Pierce on the show is still alive. Alda is also known for roles in  Scientific American frontiers, West Wing, and  The Aviator, for which he received a nomination for Academy Award.

He is also known for his extensive charitable work. While Alda is still holding up quite well, it was announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Harrison Ford, 77, Born In 1942 - Raiders of the Lost Ark

Hollywood action star Harrison Ford has a sixth sense for picking up timeless parts in big movie franchises. Not only he's the man responsible for portraying the charismatic archaeologist Indiana Jones in movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, but he's also found his place in the Star Wars and Blade Runner franchises.

Considered to be the fourth highest-gross U.S. box-office star of all-time, Harrison Ford is not stopping now! Retirement is not on Ford's plans, as he's currently working in an untitled Indiana Jones project and the upcoming 2020 movie The Call of the Wild.

Linda Evans, 77, Born in 1942 -  Dynasty

She was born in Connecticut back in 1942, but Linda Evans soon became known throughout America for her acting. Her first success as an actress came with The Big Valley series, where she played Audra Barkley. She later landed the role of Krystle Carrington in Dynasty in the ‘80s.

Linda’s now 77 years old. Although the last time we had seen her in front of a camera was back in 1997 with The Step Sister film, she’s now expected to make a comeback. In 2020, she’s going to be playing in the Swan Song film.

 

Ronnie Wood, 72, Born In 1947 -  The Rolling Stones

Ronnie Wood was set on becoming a singer since he was a child. He didn't become just any singer, though. Wood went on to become a world-famous singer as he became a member of the English rock band The Rolling Stones. As you may have already noticed, Wood is not frequently heard of in the present.

He is 72 years old, and we assumed he was taking things slow. But that doesn't seem to be the case because he is active in Thoroughbred breeding and racing. Wood is also an artist whose work is available for viewing in places like San Francisco Art Exchange and London's Drury Lane Theatre.

 

Lynda Carter, 68, Born in 1951 -  Wonder Woman

After winning the Miss World USA pageant in 1972, it was all uphill for Lynda Carter. She was born in Arizona back in 1951 and was able to showcase all of her talents with her extraordinary career. She was, after all, the first person to ever portray Wonder Woman in the late '70s series.

Lynda’s also released five studio albums, with the latest one being in 2018 called Red Rock N’ Blues. She’s been playing a recurring role in Super Girl since 2016. Now, she's set to participate in the Canaan Land and Heirlooms movies in the upcoming future.

 

Sean Connery, 89, Born In 1930 - The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Sean Connery started his Hollywood career back in 1954. The actor of  From Russia With Love was able to dazzle the hearts of many with his acting skills until his retirement back in 2003. But even now this 87-year-old actor takes part in various projects from time to time.

However, his most recent movie The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was released back in 2003 after which Sean planned his retirement. Sean, who was actually a milkman before he was famous, has made one of the most celebrated careers in Hollywood (he has even achieved an Academy Award and two BAFTA awards!).

Shirley MacLaine, 85, Born In 1934 -  The Trouble With Harry

Alfred Hitchcock unveiled one of his masterpieces in 1955,  The Trouble With Harry. Shirley MacLaine dipped her feet in acting through the film, which marked her debut in Hollywood. At 85, she’s still adding credits to her name with appearances in films like the 2018 fantasy comedy  Noelle.

If there’s one thing we can say about MacLaine, it’s the fact that she is passionate and serious about her craft. That’s why she took  Twentieth Century-Fox to court in 1970 over a contractual dispute, and the judgment was in her favor. The landmark ruling is often cited in law textbooks covering employment-contract law.

Marlo Thomas, 82, Born In 1937 -  That Girl

That Girl is a sitcom that aired on  ABC in the late ‘60s. Marlo Thomas starred in it as its title character Ann Marie. She earned widespread recognition on the show. In fact, she even went on to receive four  Emmys, a  Peabody Award, and a  Golden Globe for it. 

Thomas is now pushing 82, and the last time she graced our screens was in  Ocean’s 8 (2018). She’s been married to Phil Donahue since 1980, and they fell in love when they first met on his famous eponymous talk show. She has five stepchildren, Donahue’s kids from his first marriage.

Sidney Poitier, 92, Born In 1927 -  Sammy Davis, Jr.: I've Gotta Be Me

As far as making history is concerned, Sidney Poitier certainly did. He earned an Oscar and a Golden Globe for a spectacular performance in the 1963 film  Lilies of the Field, becoming the first Bahamian and the first black actor to have won the prestigious awards.

He is ranked 22 on the list of Greatest Male Stars by the American Film Institute, which is not a film school; rather, it's an organization that honors and preserves achievements in film. He recently appeared in a documentary about the singer, Sammy Davis, Jr.

Ted Lange, 72, Born In 1948 - The Love Boat

He was born in Oakland back in 1948 and grew to become a nation-wide famous actor. Ted Lange did so by playing in series like The Love Boat in the ‘80s. He’s also starred in films like Othello, and in fact, he’s never stopped acting!

Just in 2020, he will be playing on WRZ: White Racist Zombies.  Lange’s now 72 years old and hasn’t lost a bit of his lovability! He’s been married to Mary Ley since 2001 and has earned himself a fortune equal to $4 million.

 

Ali MacGraw, 80, Born In 1939 -  Passion & Poetry: Peckinpah Anecdotes

With  Goodbye, Columbus, a 1969 film, Ali MacGraw sent shock-waves throughout the film industry due to her gorgeous appearance and impressive talent, which also earned her a Golden Globe. We're not sure why her career faded away by the end of the '90s, but MacGraw did try to revive herself by debuting on Broadway with the play  Festen, in 2006.

MacGraw attended Wellesley College, which is not a film school, but gave her enough foundation to have a fruitful film career. We last saw her in the documentary short  Passion & Poetry in 2017.

Nancy Sinatra, 79, Born In 1940 -  These Boots Are Made for Walkin'

Nancy Sinatra is the daughter of late singer Frank Sinatra and she was fortunate enough to be able to make singing her profession just like her famous father. The '60s were when she was most popular and her biggest hit has got to be  These Boots Are Made for Walkin'.

She was even able to do acting work at one point, with some memorable roles in  The Wild Angels and  Speedway. Nancy doesn't do much work any more but according to her IMDb page, she will be appearing as herself in a new movie called  Sebring.

Sophia Loren, 85, -  Two Women, Born In  1934

Iconic model and actress Sophia Loren was viewed as among the most noteworthy role models for women in her era. Starting out as a model, she began entering beauty pageants at 15 years old. Loren moved on to getting acting parts in 1950. In 1956, her career started to soar when she signed a prime  Paramount Pictures agreement, as did her bank balance.

The parts she had in  It Started in Naples and  The Pride and The Passion are stuck in our memories. Loren's net worth in 2019 is $75M, and she still steps out on the red carpet.

Lauren Tewes, 66, Born In 1953 - The Love Boat

Lauren Tewes came under the spotlight in the '70s when she starred as Julie McCoy on ABC's The Love Boat. The role earned her praise, but she lost it in the mid-'80s due to her drug addiction, which came with a consequence that harms many in show business—weight gain.

Tewes is now 66, and she has played roles in Charlie's Angels, Family, and The Fugitive, among others. In 2020, she made a comeback voicing a character named Maxine Murdoch on the radio series named Murder and the Murdochs. When Tewes's showbiz gigs have been slow, she reportedly serves as a sous-chef in Seattle

Jill Whelan, 53, Born In 1966 - The Love Boat

Speaking of The Love Boat series, we couldn’t possibly leave out Jill Whelan, as she so successfully played Vicki Stubing there. She was a teenager when she was part of the show, and by the time it finished, she was in her 20s. Naturally, Jill went on to have a successful acting career.

She played in films like Airplane! and Martin and remained active up until recently. The last movie in which we saw her was in 2017, Take It from the Top. Jill is 53 years old by now and a mother to two sons. She’s been living in Los Angeles since 2012.

Nichelle Nichols, 87, Born In 1932 -  Star Trek: The Original Series

Speaking of Star Trek, Nichelle Nichols could not have skipped us. After all, she’s a member of the original series’ cast of the ‘60s! Nichelle played the role of Uhura in many of the franchise’s projects. She will be reprising it in the upcoming Star Trek Frist Frontier film!

Nichelle’s not as young as she was back then, but her acting skills haven’t at all been affected. In 2020 she even played in Unbelievable!!!. Some of Nichelle’s projects outside acting, include working with NASA on a female-recruiting program and writing books like Beyond Uhura in 1994.

Richard Dean Anderson, 69, Born In 1950 -  General Hospital

An actor who started his Hollywood career way earlier and rose to fame in 1976, he has been appearing as Dr. Jeff Webber in hit television show  General Hospital since 1963. But that's not all about his success story.

Richard is also known for performing in television show  MacGyver in the 1960s. For someone who never dreamt about making it big as an actor, this television star surely proved himself wrong. With his big break in  General Hospital, we don't think he will be going anywhere soon!

Bo Derek, 63, Born In 1956 - Tarzan, the Ape Man

Bo Derek is an American actress and model who bagged various roles in the fantasy movies of John Derek when they were still husband and wife.  Tarzan The Ape Man,  Bolero, and  Ghosts Can’t Do It are just a few of the most famous credits in her filmography.

This  Golden Globe nominee's career was at its best during the ’80s and the ’90s. But after that, she has only taken up various small roles in the industry. Bo is now married to John Corbett and has recently played in the 2018 films  5 Weddings and  The Christmas Trap.

 

Dirk Benedict, 75, Born In 1945 – The A-Team

From Battlestar Galactica and The A-Team series, Dirk Benedict has earned himself a fortune equal to $1.5 million. Dirk’s been enjoying a hiatus the past decade. However, it came to an end in 2019 when he was in Space Ninjas. Dirk will be participating in the upcoming mini-series called After Hell.

He’s 75 years old, but it appears that he still has every shred of talent that landed him on TV in the first place. Dirk had two sons with his ex-wife Toni Hudson, and one from a previous relationship. He lives in a waterfront house in Bigfork, Montana.

 

Gates McFadden, 71, Born In 1949 -  Star Trek: The Next Generation

She might mostly be famous for her role in the Star Trek: The Next Generation series, but the truth is that Gates McFadden’s career stretches way beyond that. Gates has acted both on stage and on-camera but has also worked extensively as a choreographer for various productions.

By now, Gates is 71 years old and is worth $3 million. On top of the Star Trek series, she’s also played in four of the franchise’s films. Meanwhile, her stage work includes productions like 1988’s Emerald City. The last time Gates acted on TV was for an episode of NCIS in 2017.

Pat Klous, 71, Born In 1948 - The Love Boat

Pat Klous started her career as a model in New York, before even trying out acting. When Klous made the switch, she found incredible success, and also got to play in The Love Boat until 1984! Her last acting gig was with an episode of Murder, She Wrote in 1987.

That was also around the same time when she got her third and final divorce to David Beach, with whom she’d gotten married four years earlier. Klous announced getting retired from acting in 2002. She has been living her life quietly, away from the spotlight ever since.

Johnny Crawford, 73, Born In 1946,   The Rifleman

Johnny Crawford gained prominence playing Mark McCain in the western TV series,  The Rifleman. The show ran from 1958 until 1963. He was was 13 years old when he was nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance in the show. Johnny is also a singer and musician and was widely popular back in the '60s.

After the show had ended, he appeared on  Hawaii Five-O and  The Resurrection of Broncho Billy, a live-action short Western film which won an Academy Award. He entered retirement in 1999. Crawford has been leading a vintage dance orchestra band since 1992.

Robert Fuller, 86, -  Emergency!, Born In 1933

The actor and horse rancher, Robert Fuller, became a hit on TV after he signed on to portray Dr. Kelly Brackett in the hospital drama series,  Emergency! During the '60s and '70s, he starred in the TV Westerns  Laramie and  Wagon Train as Jess Harper and Cooper Smith respectively. Early in his career, he had appearances in various movies such as  Return of the Seven and  Incident at Phantom Hill.

In '94, Fuller received praise for his exceptional acting in the movie  Maverick. He took his career up to 2001 and then retired from acting. He's now worth $5M, so his retirement planning does seem to be working in his favor.

Morgan Fairchild, 70, Born In 1950 - Dallas

Morgan Fairchild became famous in the ‘80s by playing in various TV shows such as  Search for Tomorrow. The daytime soap opera was actually the first project she did on TV back in 1973. Yet,  Dallas has got to be her most notable work on the small screen.

In more recent times, younger audiences may recognize the now 70-year-old Morgan as Nora Bing from  Friends. In this beloved series, she played Chandler’s mom, which was a recurring character from 1995 to 2001. Her latest work is  Spring Break '83, which will be released in 2020.

Paul Michael Glaser, 76, Born In 1943 –  Starsky & Hutch

Paul started to become a rising star back in the 1960s but the reason behind his hugely successful career was his role in Starsky & Hutch. This television show from the 70s gives Paul the edge that makes him stand strong in the television industry.

With that, this 75-year-old actor also appeared in the  Ray Donovan television show till 2014,  The Mentalist and more. The actor has not planned on retiring anytime soon. An actor who lost his first wife and two children to HIV, Glaser remains a very inspirational figure in the industry.

Olivia de Havilland, 103, Born In 1916 -  The Woman He Loved

Even when she has crossed the one hundred mark, Olivia de Havilland continues to break records. She is the oldest person to have been appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, a coveted title for her service to the field of drama. Although Havilland's life did not allow for film school, her passion was enough to kick-start her career, even when it meant leaving her home.

After a long career of more than 50 years, Havilland eventually retired in 1988 with her final TV film,  The Woman He Loved.

Max Baer Jr., 82, Born In 1937 -  The Beverly Hillbillies

Max Baer Jr's name might ring a bell to you if you love vintage TV shows. In 1962, he joined the cast of  The Beverly Hillbillies where he played Jethro Bodine, a not-so-smart man who got in all kinds of trouble. He stayed in the cast until the show's cancellation in 1971.

The fact that he got typecast led him to engage in directing. He has also produced movies such as  Macon County Line. Though his career didn't blossom as he imagined it, he still has enough bucks to live the rest of his life comfortably.
